Grilling and barbecuing are among America's leading culinary pastimes and Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort is raising the stakes by hosting the sixth annual Smoke on the Water USA Barbecue Championship October 28 - 30, 2016 in Laughlin Nevada.

When the flames begin, music fans, barbecue enthusiasts and championship barbecue teams will descend upon Laughlin for an unparalleled experience at what is fast becoming known as one of the premier barbecue competitions in the world.

"The USA Barbecue Championship will bring the world's best barbecue teams to Laughin," said Ron Cates, event organizer. "Even though there is $20,000 up for grabs, it's really about more than that; it's about respect among their peers. Those that compete in this contest know the winner will be recognized as one of the best barbecue teams on the planet."

Considered one of the west coast's richest contests with a guaranteed purse of $20,000, the Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned USA Barbecue Championship Grand Champion's purse of $5,000 is also one the largest on the competition circuit.
