This year marks the 100th anniversary of the old Dayton High School, now known as the Dayton Community Center.
The school house was built on the site of the Lyon County Courthouse which burned in 1909. Nine years later the first high school opened.
The high school closed in 1959 but the building was used as an elementary and junior high school in the 60s and 70s.
Now a Community Center the building is home to many activities and special events.
